The Global Methodist Church MidTexas Conference is organizing relief efforts to assist the communities affected by the devastating flooding in Central Texas and the Hill Country.  MidTexas is mobilizing to provide assistance to these areas, including flood buckets, donations to support local first responders (many of whom are volunteer organizations), and offering ministry through local congregations.

The local congregations have been solicited by the conference to prepare flood buckets and make donations. The list of contents include:

While our church is not local to the area to assist with the flood buckets, we can assist MidTexas’ efforts in two ways:

(1) We can pray for those affected–those who have lost their children and loved ones, their homes and their belongings. Pray for the first responders and other relief workers as they’re risking their lives to help others. Pray for the communities that they’ll rally together to build back stronger than ever. Pray for those that are still missing–for a miracle of recovery. Pray for the hearts of everyone affected–that they’ll rely on God for peace and strength and they’ll lean on Him even in the midst of this tragedy.

(2) Make a donation to the disaster recovery organized by MidTexas. To do so:

  • Give online by clicking here.

  • Text “GIVEMIDTEX Disaster” to 73256

  • Mail checks to PO Box 5015, San Angelo, TX 76902. Make checks out to MidTexas Conference with “Disaster Relief” in the memo.

Please join us individually or band together within your Sunday School or Church Committees and let’s help our brothers and sisters during some of their darkest hours.
