• called Jesus “Good teacher”
• and in his own mind (his own understanding) he had kept God’s commandments: “all these I have kept since I was a boy”

Swimming in the Pool is Not the Same as Taking a Bath

What Jesus sees is what matters most

• “Jesus looked at him and loved him.”
  • Jesus saw him (imperfections and all) & Jesus still loved him
  • Jesus love for the man, wouldn’t allow Jesus to let him stay in his own “misunderstandings” and darkness.
    • Jesus brought light to that which was previously hidden in darkness for the man
