Sanctifying Grace

This is the Holy Spirit’s work within us, shaping us to become more like Christ.

When we live under the Sanctifying Grace of the Holy Spirit, He helps us:

1. Identify and removethe lingering effects or residue of original sin and our actual sins;
2. Recognize and resistthe temptations of current sins;
3. And discern and avoidfuture sins before they take root.
4. The Spirit provides the insight, conviction, and strength we need.

The Spirit leads, but He does not override our will—we must cooperate with His sanctifying work.

That’s how sanctifying grace works: the Spirit in us opposes what’s not like Jesus.
